Come view “Pieces & Poems” the newest series from emerging artist Sara Whitehead. This exhibition invites viewers to reconnect with the dissociated parts of themselves by pairing each art piece with a companion poem that is often displayed in a sculptural way. As visitors move through the exhibition, they are welcomed by familiar themes of togetherness & longing while they are asked to reconcile the opposing themes of hypocrisy & pain. My work embodies this theme of reconciling opposites by intertwining painting & poetry, distilling my complex & ephemeral subjects into simple forms & phrases. Opening Reception at the Paseo Arts & Creativity Center during Paseo’s First Friday Gallery Walk on November 6th, 6-9pm.
