This introductory course is designed for individuals with little or no prior experience in oil painting. The class will be working with specially sourced nontoxic oil paints and odorless mediums to explore color theory, mixing, value, composition and more. Delve into artistic concepts and techniques unique to this medium under the guidance of professional painter Cheryl Capps Roach. The instructor will break down the basics to provide a deeper understanding of how to interpret a three-dimensional floral still life onto a two dimensional canvas. The final class will culminate in a celebratory event, allowing students to invite friends and family to view their botanically inspired works of art.
