Born in Oklahoma, Chase Kahwinhut Earles is a Caddo potter committed to reviving and preserving the traditional pottery practices of his tribe. After connecting with the only living Caddo pottery revivalist, he began creating work that reflects the beauty, craftsmanship, and cultural depth of Caddo pottery, a tradition that was once widespread but nearly lost. Although he has always been an artist, Earles found his true purpose in reclaiming his heritage through hand-coiled, burnished pottery made from river clay and carved with traditional Caddo motifs such as serpents, feathers, and the everlasting fire. Each piece serves as both artwork and education, created to honor his ancestors and to share the rich and unique legacy of Caddo culture with his community and the broader public.
