Michaela Slavid received her B.A. in Art History from Skidmore College and has held various positions in the arts, including assistant for several contemporary artists, Registrar at the Ricco/Maresca gallery in NYC, and Director of Research at Artforum International Magazine. After a brief sabbatical from the art world she entered Oklahoma’s art scene as Gallery Manager for JRB Art at The Elms before accepting the position of Museum Manager for 21c Museum Hotels, Oklahoma City, where she has spent the last six years stewarding the location’s exhibitions, managing museum programming, curating exhibitions by local artists, and working with local partners such as Oklahoma Contemporary, OKCMOA, OVAC, and more, to provide resources and events for Oklahoma City’s newcomers as well as locals.
