This dynamic and unique event features Oklahoma artists ages 30 and younger in an environment created specifically for them, helping them gain experience and meet new audiences. Attendees encounter film, performance, new media, installation, music, and more!

Update: Wednesday, April 29, 2020

In line with decisions made by arts leadership across the state, SLOWMENTUM 2020 will not open to the public in May. The exhibition will close on May 8th, and art sales will end at that time as well.

Thank you to our generous sponsors who made this program possible. The Slowmentum virtual tour and online gallery will remain on view indefinitely.

The OVAC staff is currently working from home but is still available to answer any questions. Email or call (405) 879-2400 Ex. 2.

The Event

The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s

Momentum annually features Oklahoma artists ages 30 years and younger, working in diverse media. The exhibition presents a diversified look at young artistic talent in Oklahoma.

In light of COVID-19, The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition along with our partner and venue, Dead People's Stuff, made the decision to change the format of Momentum 2020. This event changed to SLOWMENTUM 2020 and was intended to function as a regular exhibition instead of a 3-day event. The health and wellness of the community are of the utmost importance and we this shift in programming was necessary to protect the public.

SLOWMENTUM will remain closed to the public, and the exhibition will end on May 8th. Artwork will still be available for purchase until 5pm on Friday, May 8th.

We hope we can see you next year at Momentum 2021! Check back for more information in Fall 2020.
