Are you interested in learning more about artists in Oklahoma? Resources for artists? Exhibitions? Non-profit administration?
Working alongside OVAC staff, interns are exposed to the daily management of an artist service organization and gain access to the people, events, and resources of the state's arts community and OVAC. Interns assist in OVAC's daily operation, carrying out administrative, technical, and research duties, as well as special projects.
In addition to hands-on experience, the internship includes a structured curriculum that requires light reading and thoughtful responses in a workbook each week. This study will include focused work in the areas of arts administration, event coordination, writing and research, website and database management, fundraising and development, and marketing and public relations. Specific areas of interest may be expressed in the cover letter at the time of application.
Selected participants can receive college credit if agreed upon by your educational institution (if applicable) OR a stipend for the semester ($1,200 for the spring and fall, $1,000 for the summer)
OVAC offers internships every Fall, Spring, and Summer semester.
The schedule is flexible with a minimum of 12 hours worked per week – at least 10 hours required in office (remaining hours can be remote). PLUS, some events on weekday evenings or weekends
To apply, please email a cover letter and resume to Hayley Olson at email@example.com.
The cover letter should include qualifications as well as what the applicant hopes to learn from the internship.
The deadline for the Spring 2020 Internship is January 8, 2020.
