Archive of Loneliness (AoL) is a project focused on empowering queer Oklahomans who are isolated from their communities because of barriers like poverty, disability, rural isolation, discrimination, etc. By uplifting isolated queer creators, we can start to build and strengthen spaces for queer people in this state. Most of you have received an email about this already, but it was too long and difficult to navigate.

There are two different parts of AoL: The Zine, and The Network.  

The Zine has slots for 14 artists, who will be determined by an application process (detailed in the folder linked below). These artists will pair up and collaborate on new works, which will be published in the Zine next June. They will also help us plan release parties, which will feature performances and roundtable discussions between themselves and other guests like therapists, activists, legal experts, etc. It’s been made possible through a THRIVE Grant provided by OVAC.

The Network is a non-hierarchical network for queer artists, makers, writers, performers, and creators. Anybody who is both an Oklahoman, and 2SLGBTQIA+ can be a part, no application required. The idea is that we create a directory and a few online servers that are for queer people to collaborate, organize, and make new things and spaces without having to go through institutions, nonprofits, and corporate PR schemes. While the zine is being made using funding from OVAC, the effort keeping the network completely grassroots. 

Currently the directory works like this: everyone fills out a google form (which can be found here) it doesn't require any personal info; then everyone's answers get compiled automatically into a spreadsheet.

The current online spaces for the Network are a facebook group, and a discord server.
