Artist Statement
I am a photo artist. I have developed very solid skills as a photographer. However, as I said, I am a photo ARTIST. Instead of paint on canvas, etc., I create my art by applying light to a sensor. Now much of the time, everything the image needs is present at the moment I click the shutter. But sometimes, there are elements that need to be added, and sometimes there are elements that need to be taken away. When this occures I do just that, add or subtract elements as necessary. So yes,I sometimes create composites by taking certain elements of two or more photographs and combining them to create a single image.
Artist Bio
Born in Indiana...when I was six years old, my family moved to rural Blaine County, Oklahoma, where I grew up...well, let's just say, where I got bigger. I headed west after a couple years of college at SWOSU in Weatherford. I eventually wound up in SoCal...got off a bus in downtown Los Angeles on February 1st, 1981. While in SoCal, I found my wife, adopted a son and became heavily involved in music. I moved my family back to Oklahoma in 2005 and about three years later I bought a camera and set out to learn photography. I'm internationally published, I work with models but do mostly nature and wildlife photography these days. But I also do family portraits, etc. My wife and I own storage unit businesses in two towns, Watonga and Thomas.
