Painting is how I express my gratitude for life itself. Capturing beauty on canvas is my contribution to making the world a better place.
Artist Statement
My paintings reflect the diversity of life - vast landscapes, indigenous peoples, and animals that inhabit it. An exploration of connections between the creator and created things. In solitude, we ponder how every living thing has a purpose, with a positive or negative impact. Through serenity, we envision how we can live in harmony and make the world a better place.
I work with pastels, oils, and acrylics. My techniques range from realism to vividly colored impressionism. Having lived in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado, I paint the scenery and inhabitants of these regions. I love to capture fleeting moments that often go unnoticed, such as a sunset.
My personal favorites are landscapes that convey solitude and serenity, taking me away from the chaos of this world and into a kinder place, a hope for a better day.
Painting is how I express my gratitude for life itself. Capturing beauty on canvas is my contribution to making the world a better place. With each brush stroke, I pray that the viewer will experience the peace and tranquility within the scene.
I strive to continue learning and growing as an artist. Symbolic paintings are my most recent work in progress. The symbolic series incorporates hidden symbolism prompting the viewer to find the hidden spiritual message within. The symbols and clues are in the paintings, and the answers are found within Bible scripture.
