Photographs have always drawn me in; I aspire to capture images that encourage viewers to experience that same sense of attraction. Photographing outdoors especially entices me. I must photograph flowers – that is a given – but I also enjoy all varieties of plants and animals as well as interesting shapes and textures found in nature. Mountains and meadows, streams and waterfalls, clouds and weather demand my attention, as do sunsets, modes of transportation, and buildings old and new.

Although I still love a beautiful photograph, recently I have been moving toward a more artistic approach to finishing my photographs. This forces me to look differently at my photos, considering how I can enhance them to tell a larger story. I feel that I am only beginning to explore the opportunities this offers.
