I use my photography and painting to showcase my love of color and nature.
I love bringing awareness to the unknowns of our natural world, and sparking interest in the unappreciated flora and fauna that make our planet so interesting to live in.
Lauren "LJ" Rucker grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with an accounting degree, and currently lives in Oklahoma City, where she spends half her time continuing her accounting profession, and the other half chasing her artistic dreams.
Her love of wildlife, photography, and painting has been lifelong and she pursues ways to combine these passions into works of art. She loves spending time in nature, whether that's in a state park or her own backyard, capturing nature & wildlife with her camera, then using those photos as inspiration for her paintings. She especially loves the lesser-known aspects of wildlife & nature that people don't always notice right away.
Her art has been featured at the Myriad Gardens, the Norman Public Library, and in the OKC Zoo annual calendar.
She hopes her artwork can bring a sense of wonder and appreciation to people, and spark a desire to learn and appreciate this amazing planet we live on.
