Art is a desire to live differently. Steeping the room with color restores us. In love and art, you live forever.
Artist Statement
All the things we are told to desire, all that is "trendy", is all crap. We’ve been taught to desire “natural”. We buy “real” vitamins, “whole” food, “natural” water, even plain pinewood furniture from an Ikea forest. Deep within, we long for a more colorful world. Color 'paints' the room where we take refuge to be ourselves. Steeping in art’s color restores us. Invest in what thrills you. Too many people play it safe with white walls. Art is really a desire to be restored, to live differently.
Artist Bio
Jim is married and lives in Oklahoma City. He is a writer, blogger, photographer and artist using both canvas and metal.
For many years Jim has experimented with inks on canvas and ink-to-plastic process burned onto metal, to create metal fusion art. Walking the land and cities, Jim captures images with an iPhone. From that photography media, Jim works with inks to capture his art before applying to watercolor papers, canvas, and ink fused aluminum for wall display. "Working with metal is very exciting. Like a baker making his bread, I am thrilled when the finished metal print cools from 400º. Colors just pop!"
