In the landscape, as with art the more one seeks, the more there is to find.
Artist Statement
The first time I saw the high plains, I fell in love all over again. Drawn to wild places by nature, nothing prepared me for the sheer emptiness, beauty, and grandeur of that expanse. Influenced always by the outdoors, my works are an affirmation of wild places and the discoveries to be made therein. Wandering in the wide open, a sketchbook is opened; textures are indicated by tone and shade. Back in the studio, a penchant for the literal changes by choice to more expressionist, meditative, work; work that both shows and hides, allowing the viewer to seek, to wonder, and to discover. In the landscape, as with art the more one seeks, the more there is to find.
