Painting wildlife realism in oils on panel. Mostly southwest/western subjects: horses, bulls, bison, etc.
Artist Statement
Greetings Internet Stranger!
My work is focused on creating somewhat minimalist wildlife portraits. I love to focus in on the subject and I aim to get my reference shots at eye level or lower to capture a more intimate pose when possible. I like to keep my backgrounds a bit more abstract, providing depth to the scene and splashes of bright color.
I love every aspect of my work, from taking reference photographs and building and staining my panels to mixing my color palettes and painting the fine fur details in the final stages. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love. Thanks for visiting my page!
Cheers!

Artist Bio
- Kathryn Webster is an oil painter interested in figurative subjects. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, Kathryn worked in web design and app development and honed her skills in 3D modeling. After years of working digitally, she wanted to explore traditional art mediums.
- “I love to spend time in nature watching and photographing wildlife. Studying the pose, movement, and anatomy of a figure and trying to capture what is beautiful to me about the subject in that moment using a traditional medium like oil paints is incredibly satisfying to me. There’s always something new to learn and to see in each painting and I can’t wait to explore the next one.”
