My style consists of using gradation with bold colors to evoke emotions, atmosphere, and rhythm which was perfected by many of the Impressionist Masters.

Artist Statement

I am a self-taught, Pastel and Oil artist currently based in Midwest City, Oklahoma. I have been influenced by the Impressionist Painters of the 19th Century Art Movement, known as Impressionism. I enjoy the depiction of light, thin, small, and broad strokes in my paintings. My style consists of using gradation with bold colors to evoke emotions, atmosphere, and rhythm.

Artist Bio

Joseph currently lives in Midwest City, Oklahoma. After completing his military service which included deploying to Vietnam, he returned to Oklahoma City to pursue his education. He holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kansas and a BA Degree from the Historical Black College at Langston University, Langston, Oklahoma. Mr. McGlon retired from the Department of Veterans Medical Center, where he evaluated Veterans for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. He credits his experience in counseling Veterans as the driving force that leads to the development of his artistic discovery and journey.
