When I photograph an object or a scene I am living my life to the fullest as the artist I was meant to be.
Artist Statement
Photography is the perfect artistic medium for me. With a photograph, I can visually express my personal interpretation of my environment. My intent is to create images that evoke the same serenity I experience when I have a camera in my hand. My photography interests run the gamut from astrophotography, capturing the night sky in all of its colorful glory, to macro photography, capturing the infinite beauty of the smallest parts of flowers and other objects, as well as documenting the essence of cultural and historical sites.
Artist Bio
I grew up in Pawhuska, in Osage County, with its unique interweaving of western and Native American cultures. These early experiences fostered my love of photographing historical sites and unique cultural destinations. My father, whose business was repairing watches and jewelry, fostered my love of capturing detail evident today in my macro and floral photographs. After college and law school at OU, I settled in Oklahoma City where I pursued a legal career and volunteered with many local art, nonprofit, and educational organizations. Now retired from my legal career, I have turned my long-term hobby into a professional photography business. I have traveled extensively to photograph both natural and urban environments, and recently I completed a studio for macro and portrait work.
