I love a direct approach to painting. The possibility of what oil paint can do as a material is endless.
I am interested in the possibilities of combining the figure and abstraction. Much of my work over the last several years has concentrated on the depiction of the female nude. These large-scale oil paintings are painted in a direct alla prima approach, often being completed in one or two sittings.
Born and raised in rural Illinois to an artist father and a preschool teacher mother, Crouch received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Illinois University in 2009. He then earned a Master of Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts from Bradley University. Crouch joined the faculty at Cameron University in Lawton Oklahoma in August of 2021 where he teaches painting and drawing.
