Artist Statement
My favorite subject to paint and draw is figurative work- more specifically portraits. Recently I’ve taken notice of how you can portray more without painting every detail. My recent approach to art is to paint what I can see rather than what is known. By using the less-is-more approach I’ve noticed my artwork has become stronger, more fluid and less stagnant. I intend to continue my exploration of where this could lead me.
Artist Bio
I grew up the only artist in my family with parents who always supported my pursuits in the arts. In 2017 I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with my bachelor’s in Film and New Media. I married a wonderful man who has always been my biggest cheerleader a year later. Most recently I’ve graduated with my second bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University, this time in the Fine Arts.
