Painting with oils is my favorite medium. I love to mix the colors and apply them liberally. Flowers are my favorite subject, but I often find myself drawn to landscapes, and my new found desire of portraiture.
Artist Statement
As a child I was always sketching but lost the desire somewhere along the way. I knew I had an eye for art but didn't know how to take what I saw and registered in my brain to my hands. When in 2006, during a 7 month period of terrible loss I found myself in a deep dark hole. Two years of depression and a trip to a therapist, who suggested I revisit my first love, art, I found my way to the light and happiness once again. I love to paint flowers as they are of rebirth, beauty and color.
Artist Bio
My artistic education consists of junior high art for three years, then nothing until I joined an afternoon class with local artist Ross Myers. I then discovered the world of workshops. I've taken many around the country with artists such as; David Leffel, Sherri McGraw, Derek Penix, Daniel Keys, Kelli Folsom, Kevin Beilfuss, Charles Ewing, Lori Putnum, Tim Tyler and Romel de la Torre and they've given me a basis to further my art.
