Artist Statement
Becky Deed is an oil painter who loves to bring expression to her paintings through rich color; buttery thick texture; and light to create "Art You Can Feel." To bring her paintings to "life" She uses expressive texture through the combination of brushwork and palette knife depending on the subject matter and constantly explore color and light to bring her perspective to her paintings.
Artist Bio
Becky's love of sharing her painting process is a natural extension of her background in art education. Becky has exhibited and been represented by galleries in Texas and Tulsa. She has held leadership offices in regional art organizations and continued her education by taking classes and workshops from noted artists Francois Arenas, Bruce Peil, Judy Gelfert, Niki Gulley, Derek Penix, and Dreama. She received her BA in art education with honors from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Becky worked many years in management in the aviation industry and her travels are often seen in her paintings. She is committed to the highest artistic standards when painting her work; your commissions; and brings extensive administrative/planning experience to the process.
In addition to painting commissions, she is a history buff, Route 66 enthusiast, loves exploring genealogy, going to museums, traveling, and watching historical romances.
