Art is incredibly powerful. It knows no bounds. It is healing and unquestionably lifesaving.
Artist Statement
I love to focus on shapes, colors, and textures. I really like learning as I go because studying and playing with different techniques to grow and evolve as an artist is very important to me. I enjoy being able to connect with and inspire as many people as possible so I try to create a broad range of abstract work. I hope that my work will resonate with others healing from trauma.
Artist Bio
Aleise Cowsert is an Oklahoma artist who began painting a few years ago as part of her therapy. She fell in love with creating art and felt its empowering effects.
Aleise was born in a small town in Northwest Oklahoma and faced many obstacles as an LGBTQ+ identified cis woman. These hardships helped to shape her as a person and eventually helped inspire her artwork. She believes in the healing and therapeutic properties of art.
Currently living in Oklahoma City, she has begun to find her footing in the art community recently showing in a state wide art show. With a heart for activism and helping others, Aleise has donated profits from sales to non-profits including Black Lives Matter. She has also commissioned pieces for people throughout Oklahoma, the US, and internationally.
