Artist Statement
Aditi's work contains bright colors, bold kinetic lettering and a positive message. While choosing art as a profession often starts in childhood with a recognized talent, Aditi's motives for self-expression differ from many others. Having had a stutter since she was young, she found that she was better able to communicate with visuals and colors than with speech. Aditi still draws on this ability, both innate and cultivated, to create bold and brightly colored designs, whether it’s for an illustration for a local magazine, or a mural for a brewery.
Artist Bio
Aditi Heins is a Oklahoma City-based lettering artist, muralist and illustrator. She is passionate about working with local businesses and female entrepreneurs in Oklahoma to bring their vision to life, and help their brand stand out. Aditi's work can be found all over Oklahoma, whether it's published in the newest issue of Curbside Chronicle, a local magazine that empowers the homeless population, or whether it's painted as part of a mural festival organized by the Oklahoma Mural Syndicate.
Aditi was awarded a spot on the prestigious NextGen Under 30 roster in Oklahoma by NextGen Foundation in 2021, an award that recognizes individuals making moves in their field. In 2022, one of her lettering pieces was published in the first Women of Type book, a book that celebrates typography and lettering created by women and non-binary artists worldwide.
