Two artists will showcase their work to attendees and Michaela will lead a discussion of their work. She will tailor the discussion to the specific needs of the artist, whether that is feedback on a new body of work or an application, suggestions on where to exhibit, or just general career advice. These are free hybrid (in-person and virtual) events, but registration is required.
If you are not an artist, you can still attend! The audience members play a key role in giving the artists an opportunity to practice talking about their work. You can post questions, comments, and resources for the featured artist in the Google Jamboard that will be live and accessible via the internet during the event. In-person attendees are encouraged to use the Jamboard but are also welcome to raise their hands to insert comments. Click the button below to register for the first event of 2022.

If you are an artist who wants to have their artwork critiqued by a professional curator, click the button below! Michaela reviews all of the submissions and selects the two artists who are featured. The two selected artists will receive a $100.00 honorarium for their participation in this event. Application open dates are listed under "2022 Schedule".
We are excited to re-launch Art Crit Night in partnership with 21c Museum Hotel OKC, and curator, Michaela Slavid! We hosted four virtual events in 2021 and this year, we will be meeting in person at 21c Museum Hotel. Participants may also join via Zoom at their preference. Each presenting artist will receive a $100 honorarium for showcasing their work. Artists, arts professionals, collectors, and anyone curious about joining the conversation can look forward to a relaxed evening of engaging discussion and mingling with art friends.
