Two artists will showcase their work to attendees and Michaela will lead a discussion of their work. She will tailor the discussion to the specific needs of the artist, whether that is feedback on a new body of work or an application, suggestions on where to exhibit, or just general career advice. These are free hybrid (in-person and virtual) events, but registration is required.
If you are not an artist, you can still attend! The audience members play a key role in giving the artists an opportunity to practice talking about their work. You can ask questions or offer constructive feedback by raising your hand during the event and virtual attendees can add their comments in the chat. We are excited to re-launch Art Crit Night in partnership with 21c Museum Hotel OKC, and curator, Michaela Slavid! We hosted four virtual events in 2021 and this year, we will be meeting in person at 21c Museum Hotel. Participants may also join via Zoom at their preference. Each presenting artist will receive a $100 honorarium for showcasing their work. Artists, arts professionals, collectors, and anyone curious about joining the conversation can look forward to a relaxed evening of engaging discussion and mingling with art friends. All events start at 6:00 pm and encourage audience participation. At the mid-way point, we will take a 30-minute mix and mingle break and finish with the second presenting artist for the evening. See you there!
