Chris Cameris creates compositions that are both abstract and representational, often set amid geometric, fantasy backgrounds, with colors that pulsate with energy and sensuality. In his paintings, he seeks to balance the material with the spiritual and give an ethereal glow to the subject matter through his treatment of light. His current work is in mixed media. In addition to brushes, spatulas and airbrush, Chris works on the computer, a tool that gives incredible freedom and flexibility in helping achieve artistic expression. He says, " I want to use color, light and shape, like a composer uses musical notes, to create a visual composition that may or may not resemble nature, but that, nevertheless, evokes a pleasurable response for the viewer. " His work is in private collections in the U.S. and Cyprus, and is currently represented by the Pictures Plus and Frame Maker Galleries in Tulsa, Oklahoma. cbcameris@sbcglobal.net
