What is the Oklahoma Art Writing & Curatorial Fellowship?
The Oklahoma Art Writing & Curatorial Fellowship aims to train promising writers and curators by expanding their professional education and experience. This distinctive, yearlong program awards 12 fellows the opportunity to participate in a structured and innovative curriculum designed to encourage new writing and curatorial projects. Led by nationally-recognized mentors, the 12 Fellows will receive feedback on their writing and curatorial projects and will connect to current dialogues in art.
When is it?
The program will be held from January-December 2010.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be Oklahoma residents or live within 350 miles of Oklahoma City. Undergraduate students may not apply.

Art 365 award.
Josh Buss (Moore, OK) - Artist and Education Director at City Arts Center in Oklahoma City.
Scott Gleeson (Dallas, TX) - Artist and critic who recently completed an MA in Art History at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Brian Hearn (Oklahoma City, OK) - Artist and Film Curator at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art; received the Tilghman Award in 2009 for outstanding support of films in Oklahoma.
Alison Hearst (Ft Worth, TX) - Curatorial Research Assistant at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Co-founder of experimental art collaborative, Subtext Projects, and contributes reviews to
Art Critical,
Art Lies, and
Glasstire.
Sarah Jesse (Tulsa, OK) - Bernson Director of Education and Public Programs at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa; previously served as Assistant Director of Public Programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

The deadline for applications for the 2010 program has passed. The deadline for applications for the 2012 Fellowship is tentatively scheduled for summer of 2011.
