Oklahoma Art in Public Places
Oklahoma Art in Public Places, in partnership with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, presents the Public Art Mentorship to provide technical assistance to Oklahoma artists who don’t have experience participating in a public art/percent for art project.

Deadline for submissions has passed. Selected artsits are Eric Baker, Dan Garrett and Eric Wright.

What is it?
Oklahoma Art in Public Places is seeking artists without public art experience to create commissioned sculptures with the assistance of an experienced mentor. Commissioned artists will work with the mentor on logistical issues, fabrication, timelines, etc. Three artists will be selected with commissions totaling $50,000.

Who is eligible?

Artists living in Oklahoma who have NOT had an art commission over $15,000

Who is the mentor?
Lynn Basa has been a practicing artist for over 25 years, whose works are in collections throughout the U.S. She authored The Artist’s Guide to Public Art: How to Find and Win Commissions and is on the faculty in the Sculpture department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
